Breakfast Book Club 2012-2013

Bollinger Bulldogs “Paws” For Reading

The PTA Family Reading Program is pleased to announce the start of its 12th year of Breakfast Book Club. We support Bollinger Canyon School’s focus on reading by providing an opportunity for kids to experience books with their peers. This program is open to all grade levels and is for kids who love to read, those who can’t read yet, and for those who need the extra incentive to read!  It’s a great way to get in those required minutes and pages of reading.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month in 2012 and the third Wednesday of the month in 2013. This year’s meeting dates are: October 10th, November 14th, December 12th, January 16th, February 20th, March 20th, April 17th and May 15th. More information will follow for members before the first meeting.

At 7:30am club members will first share donuts and juice in the multi-purpose room. Then they will break out into grade level groups. Group activities/discussion will vary depending on the age level and book.  At the end of the meeting, a new book to read for the next month will be given out. The children will be dismissed with enough time to have a break before school starts.

Registration is required. Fill out the form on the back of this sheet and return it to school by Friday, September 14th. The cost is $40 per student. This includes seven paperback books, donuts and juice served at each monthly meeting.

Volunteers are needed for every grade! If you would like to help with Breakfast Book Club, we would love to have you. We provide the books and the ideas. You just have to provide enthusiasm for reading. Let us know you can help by indicating on the registration form.
